Colin McAdam ist ein kanadischer Schriftsteller. Er wurde in Hongkong geboren und wuchs in Dänemark, England und Barbados sowie in mehreren Städten in Kanada auf. Er studierte Englisch an der McGill University und der University of Toronto und promovierte in englischer Literatur an der University of Cambridge in England.
Er schrieb bereits für Harper’s Magazine und The Walrus. Er lebt derzeit in Montreal mit der Dichterin und ehemaligen Schlagzeugerin der Band Barzin, Suzanne Hancock.

Sein erster Roman, Ein Großes Ding, gewann den Canada First Novel Award und war Finalist für den Governor General’s Award for English language fiction, den Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, den Commonwealth Writers Prize (Best First Book) und den John Llewellyn Rhys Prize in Großbritannien. Sein zweiter Roman, Fall, wurde im Jahr 2009 veröffentlicht. Der Roman gewann den Paragraphe Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction, und war für den Scotiabank Giller Prize nominiert.

Colin McAdam is a Canadian novelist. He was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Denmark, England and Barbados, as well as in several cities in Canada. He studied English and classics at McGill University and the University of Toronto, and received his Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Cambridge in England.
He has written for Harper’s Magazine and The Walrus. He currently lives in Montreal with poet and former Barzin drummer, Suzanne Hancock.

His first novel, Some Great Thing, won the Books in Canada First Novel Award and was a finalist for the Governor General’s Award for English language fiction, the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, the Commonwealth Writers Prize (Best First Book), and the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize in the UK. His second novel, Fall, was published in 2009. It won the Paragraphe Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction, and was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize.
